The aim of the Terrarium project was to address climate change, rising temperatures and pollution on a micro level within the urban landscape. To do this I employed the use of moss which has been found to have powerful air filtering and cooling qualities. Facilitating the growth of the moss this project uses bio-receptive concrete. After a variety of iterations, the project evolved into The Terrarium, a public seating area that is also a rainforest garden. This project would also reintroduce native flora into the urban environment wherever the Terrarium is built. The Terrarium is cross discipline project that would combine, design, architecture, ecology and technology to provide a small but positive step in helping the environment and improving peoples lives.
